Kampot Holds 2021 National Boat Championship

Kampot: Kampot will have the 2021 National Boat Championship, scheduled to start today in the province rolling until 25 December.

The traditional sport of Cambodia is the main attraction of the championship, expected to promote such activity as well as strengthening the athlete’s capacity.

Not only the 2021 National Boat Championship will be held in Kampot, but also the Samdech Sar Kheng Award.

The update was shared by the Permanent Deputy President of the Cambodian Canoeing and Rowing Federation, Meas Sarin adding that the competition will be divided into four subjects.

The first category will be for international standard traditional boat "Dragon Boat", carrying 12 athletes. Men will race for a kilometer, while women will compete for 500 meters. The second category is men's 500 metres long and women's 200 metres long for kayak.

The third category is men's 500 metres long and women's 200 metres long for Canoe, and the fourth is men's 1,000 metres long and women's 500 metres long for rowing.

The championship will happen on Friday and Saturday, attracting the participation of 354 athletes across Cambodia.
